5 Winter Hair Care Tips

5 Winter Hair Care Tips

Winter air can pull the moisture out of hair, leading to itchy scalp and frizz-prone hair. Healthy hair habits start at the scalp; these 5 tips will help protect your hair as the drier months set in.

1. Shampoo Less

Overwashing can lead to drier and less nourished hair. Increase the time between your wash days to ensure hair's natural oils aren't stripped. Fewer washes also helps maintain a healthy scalp.

2. Air Dry

After washing, let your hair air dry for 10-20 minutes. This reduces the amount of time your hair spends under heat styling. Air drying helps your hair retain moisture. It's important to have a good conditioner to help seal in hair cuticles and lock in that moisture, so it's not lost when air drying.

3. Apply Oil

Pro tip: our hair serum doubles as a heat protectant! Add a pump to damp hair before styling.

4. Loose Styles

Tight hairstyles can lead to breakage and hair damage. Instead, tie your hair in a loose braid or ponytail.

5. Hair Oiling

Commit to a weekly hair oiling ritual. Our own hair serum is lightweight and great for a weekly hair oiling ritual. Weekly hair oiling deep conditions the scalp, encouraging healthy hair growth.
